Professional Background

The Executive Assistant at the School Care Team brings a wealth of experience in education, community development, and advocacy. With a Master’s degree from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and a Transition to Teaching certification from IPFW, Cornelia’s background reflects a deep commitment to learning and adaptability. Her professional journey spans teaching German at both the high school and college levels, instructing middle school English and history, and teaching kindergarten students. Additionally, over a decade of substitute teaching in Northeast Indiana, across private and public schools and all grade levels, has provided her with invaluable insight into diverse educational settings. Beyond the classroom, Cornelia’s expertise extends to community development, writing and administering grants for organizations such as the Knight Foundation, Indiana Humanities, and The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, among others.

Motivated each day by the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team with a vision and mission she fully supports, Cornelia thrives in an environment that values connection and impact. Her personal philosophy of “bloom where you are planted” has guided her through years of living outside her home country, Germany, and has reinforced a passion for teaching and advocacy.
